Something to get your thoughts going

I think Einstein had it right about imagination (and a lot of other things too, of course). I strongly believe that our thoughts are powerful and magnetic . It is what we imagine and think about constantly, that we attract into our lives – both the good and bad. That is the law of attraction at play.

Thoughts often rule the mind, and we have to create some distance to see them objectively.

You’re quite right. Too often we become a victim to our own thoughts rather than harnessing them to our benefit.

I think a lot comes down to strength of mind. I find I get up quickly in the morning when I wake as that is the time when thoughts swirl around almost at whim. If I get up and start my day, they are more controlled. I also find you get better at disciplining one’s thoughts with practice. Like many things in life, I guess.

Well said. It’s all about practice. As a toddler mum, I no longer get much time for serene thinking in the morning 😋

Those days will return again. Mornings are chaotic for years. Retirement is a wonderful blessing when it arrives.

Have you heard about the law of attraction? What’s your take?

The law of attraction? Perhaps not. How would you summarise that?

I first heard about it in a documentary called ‘The Secret’ (by Rhonda Byrne). According to the law of attraction like attracts like. Which means that what we think about we bring out. It’s not all our thoughts and it’s not instantaneous. It’s what we think about deeply, constantly and with conviction that have this magnetic power. I’ve come to really believe in it over the years. A self-fulfilling prophecy, positive thinking or shaping one’s one future. If the incentive is big enough, we can make it happen! One of my favourite adages is: If it is to be, it is up to me. All two letter words, but so powerful. I will look at the link. Thank you.
